YC Holdings Inc. (YC) is an environmental consulting firm established in 2003 in Taiwan and dedicated to climate change policy and carbon market services. YC has been assisting the Taiwan Ministry of Environmental on climate policy, carbon market, and international cooperation. It is now coordinating a capacity building project on emissions trading with the German Emissions Trading Authority (DEHSt), as well as completed a dialogue facility with the Asia Society Policy Institute (ASPI) on carbon market cooperation in the Asian region, and a study on “Carbon Pricing Options for Taiwan”.
In addition, YC also provided consulting service for the Civil Aeronautics Administration on ICAO Carbon Offset and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA), as well as local governments (New Taipei City, Taichung and Kaohsiung) on climate change and low carbon city policies and GHG reduction measures, including local regulations on voluntary emissions reduction management.
In anticipation of the emerging carbon market in Taiwan, the firm has expanded with a broader focus on providing consulting services for industries (e.g., Taiwan Power Company, China Steel, etc.) on carbon management and emissions reduction projects. The firm has also developed a carbon risk management platform (ASPNex) to help industries manage their carbon assets and risks. The platform has been used by various companies to meet their needs for GHG emissions inventory, carbon footprint, etc., and can also be applied to meet the requirements for the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
YC has completed many VCS and domestic offset projects, carbon footprint and carbon neutrality services in Taiwan, and joined the International Emissions Trading Authority (IETA) as a member in 2019. YC also regularly provides updates on carbon market information on Taiwan for IETA, the International Carbon Action Partnership (ICAP) and the World Bank.

Moreover, over 90% of the issued carbon credits in Taiwan (approximately 80 million tonnes) have been supported by YC, including projects such as:
