YC Holdings Inc. (YC) is an environmental consulting firm established in 2003 in Taiwan, dedicated to climate change policy and providing carbon market services. YC has been instrumental in assisting the Taiwan Ministry of Environmental Protection in developing effective climate change policies and enhancing the carbon market, while also fostering international cooperation. Currently, YC is coordinating a capacity building project on emissions trading with the German Emissions Trading Authority (DEHSt) and has successfully completed a dialogue facility with the Asia Society Policy Institute (ASPI) focused on carbon market cooperation across the Asian region. Additionally, YC conducted a study on "Carbon Pricing Options for Taiwan," which aligns with ESG principles and supports the journey toward achieving Net Zero emissions.
Moreover, YC has provided consulting services to the Civil Aeronautics Administration regarding the ICAO Carbon Offset and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA). The firm has also collaborated with local governments in New Taipei City, Taichung, and Kaohsiung on various climate change initiatives, low carbon city policies, and GHG reduction measures, which include local regulations for voluntary emissions reduction management and the effective utilization of carbon credits.

In anticipation of the emerging carbon market in Taiwan, the firm has expanded its focus to provide comprehensive carbon market services. This includes consulting for industries like Taiwan Power Company and China Steel on carbon management and emissions reduction projects. Additionally, the firm has developed a carbon risk management platform called ASPNex, designed to help industries effectively manage their carbon assets and risks. This platform has been utilized by various companies to meet their GHG emissions inventory and carbon footprint requirements, while also ensuring compliance with the standards set by the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
YC has successfully completed numerous VCS and domestic offset projects, providing vital carbon credits as well as carbon footprint and carbon neutrality services in Taiwan. In 2019, YC became a member of the International Emissions Trading Authority (IETA) and has since contributed valuable insights on climate change policy and carbon market information for IETA, the International Carbon Action Partnership (ICAP), and the World Bank. The firm's commitment to ESG principles and the pursuit of Net Zero initiatives underpins its operations in this evolving landscape.

YC has been dedicated to exploring innovative solutions to climate change. By supporting governments in developing climate change policy and regulations, we provide essential carbon market services that facilitate the trading of carbon credits. Our collaboration with LSE resulted in the publication of 'Carbon Pricing Options for Taiwan' in 2020, which highlights the critical role of carbon credits in achieving Net Zero goals. Our efforts span various areas, including:
• Climate and carbon pricing policies
• Central and local government regulations
• UNFCCC COPs and international cooperation
• Research projects focused on ESG and sustainability.

For over two decades, YC has partnered with a wide range of industries to help them achieve their Net Zero goals at the lowest possible cost. Our mission is simple: to support our clients through their decarbonization journey while ensuring compliance with international climate change policies and leveraging our carbon market services. We also focus on providing insights into ESG practices to enhance sustainability and facilitate carbon credits acquisition.

We support our clients in generating comprehensive Carbon Inventory Reports that comply with ISO standards, the GHG Protocol, and local regulations. With just one click using our in-house ASPNex AI GHG Inventory System, we help businesses navigate the carbon market services and identify hotspots. Our system also provides low-carbon strategies that align with climate change policy and support their ESG goals, paving the way for achieving Net Zero.

In 2010, YC completed Taiwan’s first Product Category Rules (PCR) and conducted the carbon footprint calculation for LED products, helping our client secure Taiwan’s inaugural Carbon Footprint Label. This accomplishment represents a crucial milestone in our dedication to climate change policy and is in line with broader ESG goals. Furthermore, our clients can independently calculate emissions from their products, services, and activities through the ASPNex Carbon Footprint System, which enhances their engagement in carbon market services and supports their journey towards achieving Net Zero while potentially earning Carbon Credits.

Since 2011, YC has been a leader in providing carbon market services, assisting organizations in securing carbon credits in accordance with both domestic and international standards, including the Gold Standard and VCS. Remarkably, over 90% of the carbon credits issued in Taiwan, totaling around 80 million tonnes, have been facilitated by YC. These efforts encompass a diverse array of projects aimed at addressing climate change policy, such as: • Renewable energy projects (solar, wind, waste heat, hydro, biomass) • Afforestation projects • Fuel-switch projects (transitioning from coal, oil, and gas to natural gas and renewable energy) • Energy efficiency projects (vehicles, lighting, motors). These initiatives are in line with ESG principles and contribute to the global pursuit of achieving Net Zero emissions.

To meet EU CBAM requirements and support climate change policy initiatives, YC assists dozens of industries in submitting their CBAM reports quarterly. Companies can utilize the ASPNex CBAM Reporting System to manage these submissions, optimize production recipes, and enhance their revenue while maintaining competitive advantages in the carbon market services sector. By adopting this system, clients may also become eligible for government subsidies or rebates in Taiwan, ultimately contributing to their Net Zero goals and improving their ESG performance while effectively engaging in the carbon credits market.

YC provides professional consulting services to help partners establish SOPs and implementation guidelines aimed at achieving ESG excellence, with a strong emphasis on climate change policy through close collaboration with stakeholders. By leveraging data analysis, YC Holdings Inc. assists clients in deriving valuable insights from extensive datasets to inform strategic business decisions. This includes optimizing their carbon market services and exploring opportunities related to Carbon Credits. Our experts utilize advanced analytical tools to produce customized reports, enabling clients to gain a deeper understanding of ESG trends, customer needs, and effective pathways to reach Net Zero.
Additionally, the ASPNex ESG Reporting System plays a vital role in facilitating the cost-effective generation of ESG reports.

To achieve carbon neutrality and net-zero goals, carbon trading is a vital transitional option. YC offers comprehensive carbon market services that help entities obtain eligible carbon credits for both mandatory compliance and voluntary purposes, aligning with current climate change policy.
Furthermore, subscribers can access the YC Monthly Carbon Market Report, which provides valuable insights into global carbon market trends, regulatory developments, policy updates, and carbon prices across major emissions trading systems (ETSs) and voluntary markets. This report is designed to support organizations in their ESG initiatives.

The Three-Year Roadmap (Implementation Stages)
Year 1: Foundation & Carbon Accounting (ISO 14064-1)
We implemented automated data collection systems to conduct the first organizational greenhouse gas inventory. This established a reliable baseline for the client’s carbon emissions across all operational boundaries, aiding in their journey towards carbon credits and compliance with climate change policy.
Year 2: Product Lifecycle Excellence (ISO 14067)
The focus shifted to the product level. By analyzing the "cradle-to-gate" carbon footprint of core products, we identified high-emission hotspots in the manufacturing process, enabling data-driven decarbonization strategies that enhanced our carbon market services.
Year 3: Transparency & Market Expansion (ESG Reporting)
We synthesized three years of performance data into a professional ESG report aligned with international standards (GRI/SASB/TCFD). This transparency provided the "green passport" needed to pass rigorous audits from global tier-1 brands, facilitating our clients' alignment with their Net Zero goals.
